With a variety of options provided by almost all the major manufacturers, the demand for the 150cc bikes have increased tremendously in the past two years. And here presented some of the best options in the Line-up.



1. SUZUKI GIXXER/ GIXXER SF.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 has been one of the best affordable performance motorcycles one can buy in India and the same holds true in the BS6 era. The price bump for the BS6 bike is significant but that shouldn’t deter buyers as it gets quite a few new features.


The 159.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled (with an oil-cooler) motor on the Apache 160 makes 15.1PS power. and 13.9Nm. This bike offers a mileage of 48kmpl. And top speed is 118kmph. Here came the most muscular and powerful bike of the segment. It is considered the most beautiful bike because of its cuts and bulges with the stickers. The tail lamp of the bike is in an “X” shape which looks unique. The quality of the material is good. With a engine made by German engineering which is second to none in the world.


The bike is equipped with a 162.7cc engine which serves the power output of 15.4bhp and a torque of 14.7nm. So that you would never feel the lack of power in lower gears or upper gears as well. The company claims the mileage of 52kmpl for the motorcycle. The ex-showroom price of the Hornet is 92,661 rupees.


 


4. YAMAHA YZF R15 V3

The entry level sport bike is well known in the market because of its looks and performance. This bike is power packed with ultimate performance in the 150cc segment. You can go neck to neck with most of the 200cc bikes in India. The looks of the bike is inspired by the iconic Yamaha R1 which is the heartbeat of most of the youngsters today.



The powerhouse delivers the power output of 19 horse-power and the maximum torque of 15nm with a 6-speed gearbox assisted by sleeper clutch. But this is also the most expensive 150cc motorcycle available in India with the price of 1,45,900(Ex-showroom).


 

5. BAJAJ Pulsar NS160

After the success of the Pulsar NS200, Bajaj tries to bring the NS in 150cc segment. The bike looks similar to its elder sibling NS200. This bike looks cool because of its shredded design and headlamp. The engine of the bike is revoked from AS150. The riding stability of the bike is pretty good. But the rear tyre of the bike is a bit thinner as compared to NS200.



The Bajaj NS160 is powered by an oil-cooled, 160.3cc, single-cylinder engine. The motor generates the maximum power of 15.3bhp and a peak torque of 14.6nm. The mileage of the bike is 45kmpl certified by ARAI. The ex-showroom price of NS 160 is Rs1,03,000.

These were some of the finest motorcycles available in Indian market. But the 150cc segment is full of good bikes. There are a few more bikes which you may also consider before buying a new motorcycle.
